Evan HastingsEvan Hastings is a Theatre Practitioner, Drama Therapist and Educator with a passion for turning pain into medicine through theatre. As the Founder/Director of Shadow Liberation, participatory shadow theatre for dialogue, he has engaged diverse audiences in dialogue across 17 countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East & North America. Evan has taught at Project Zero in Harvard, Lesley University, The Evergreen State College and Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology. He designs and facilitates creative group processes in challenging contexts including correctional facilities, refugee camps, war zones, school violence, and in remote villages. Evan has received support for his work from the Garden of Hope Foundation in Taiwan, US Consulate Shanghai, GIZ and the Burning Man Global Arts Grant. Evan holds an MA in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a BA in Performing Arts Education from the Evergreen State College.
