Past Performances

Guerilla Theatre Project September- November 1999
Facilitated interactive theatre workshops about the WTO in 7 high schools and 2 colleges. I was in the group that collaboratively designed the curriculum and presented.

Homecoming Skit September- October 1999
I co-wrote, directed, and co-starred in a 10-minute skit for the homecoming competition at my high school. The skit was an apocalyptic satire about conformity in the school.

Dement Shawn Less March 2001-June 2001
I co-produced and co- directed this interactive video project at The Evergreen State College. We had one public screening and a few collaborative demonstrations.

Mooovement 4 Peace October 2001
I facilitated the development of an anti-war street theatre piece that was performed at Arts Walk, Olympia’s biannual arts and music celebration.

Reptilian Dance Terrorism October 2001
A jazzy conceptual performance art piece. This interactive theatre work featured: a 5 person jazz band, shadow puppets, video, poetry and dance in response to 911 and government terrorism.

Hip Hopera to Rock Yer Chakras December 2001
Puppets accented this lyrical non-linear narrative based on a series of interviews we conducted with the question, “what’s the correlation between the war on terrorism and sexual frustration?”

Gary Lockedown Puppet Showdown January 2002
I co-hosted a series of giant puppet making workshops in which we built a giant puppet of Governor Gary Locke, that we use in a protest against Washington State budget cuts to Higher Education.

Theatre of the Oppressed Facilitators Training Performance June 2002
To conclude the weeklong training we hosted a public Forum Theatre event. The Forum issues included racial profiling with airport security, racism and classism in grocery stores.

Outside Our Shells; an interactive healing oriented theatre ensemble Fall 2003 – Winter 2004
I was the Artistic Director Outside Our Shells sought cultural healing from homophobia and sexism. As a gift to all present, we performed in an open ended interactive environment.

Youth Media Festival May 2004
I was the headline feature performer at this festival in the Capital Theater in Olympia, WA.

Inside Our Skin, a interactive performance ensemble. Winter - Spring 2005
I was the Artistic Director and Producer of Inside Our Skin. We created original performance art touching issues of race and sensuality. Sponsored by K Records.

Consent Spring 2006
I was the artistic director of Consent, a sexual assault prevention theatre ensemble at that worked with students to raise awareness and reduce instances of sexual assault.

Celebrate Resistance to the Military May 2006
I was a featured performer in this Mother's Day event at the Parkway Theatre in Oakland. This anti-war performance showcase was sponsored by Courage to Resist.

Artists Against Rape June 2006
I was a featured performer in Artists Against Rape at the Brava Theater in San Francisco. My powerful performance was a combination of poetic monologue and movement.

War Torn October 2006
I performed with this poetic trio at Weekend Wake-up, an Oakland-based All-ages monthly Hip Hop cultural event.

I debuted an excerpt of heArtwrench at this annual Berkeley-based event.

heArtwrench November 2008- current
A witty courageous solo show that poetically shatters stereotypes of masculinity. Themes include: identity, teen suicide, rape, and my path of healing in the face of adversity.
